Four Die in Marksville House Fire
An overnight fire in Marksville kills four people, and two of them were children. The fire also claims the life of a father and grandmother.
The victims are 32-year-old Stanley Charrier, his 62-year-old mother Catherine Charrier, his 9-year-old son Carlin and his 12-year-old stepdaughter Emily Graham.
Marksville firefighters responded to the fire around 11:00 last night on Bill Belt Road while the mother of the children, Monique Charrier was at work.
“Fire departments from Marksville 5th Ward and the Brouillette Community responded; upon their arrival the building was completely engulfed in flames and unfortunately four people perished in the fire,” said Sheriff Doug Anderson with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Department. “The State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the fire; right now it’s undetermined.”
Firefighters say they found three bodies in one area of the home; the fourth was in a separate spot within the charred remains. Autopsies have been requested.
Authorities say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
