Providing musical entertainment are SGT Pepper’s Lonely Bluegrass Band and Breaking Southwest.

Ten years after forming the band Beatlegras, Dave Walser continues the Beatles-done-bluegrass ride with his new band – SGT Pepper’s Lonely Bluegrass Band. The four-piece group features Reggie Rueffer on fiddle, Bach Norwood on upright bass, Gerald Jones playing banjo and Walser on guitar.  This fab four will blast through a fun evening of Beatles classics, done bluegrass-style. Walser said he is excited about coming to Fort Polk.

“This is the first time we’ve ever done a show with the military,” he said.  “We’re hoping it’s the first of many shows.”

The band is based in Dallas and Walser said the event would be a one-day road trip.  As its name suggests, Walser’s band plays primarily Beatles standards – with a bluegrass twist.

Also performing is Breaking Southwest, another Texas band with its roots deep in country music. The group’s live show is a high energy, rockin’ good time that strives to leave the audience wanting a little bit more.

The evening closes with the finale of the “Battle of the Bands” competition.
