Fort Polk Holds Veterans Day Ceremonies

Veterans Day is Monday, but ceremonies are being held at Fort Polk today.  The traditional ceremony honoring veterans is co-hosted by the Joint Readiness Training Center.  The speakers include the base commander Brigadier General William Hickman and 4th District Congressman John Fleming of Minden.

Cecil Walker, a 90-year-old World War 2 veteran, was a special guest.  Walker is also a poet and he recited a work he wrote to honor the military.  He has 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
