Fort Polk Celebrates US Army Birthday

It’s a proud tradition in the U.S. Army and one that’s never overlooked. 239 years ago, The Continental Army was created to defend the United States against the British.

A ceremony was held at the Fort Polk Warrior Community Center today.

The oldest and youngest soldiers at the fort did the honors on the birthday cake.

And all 183 streamers were presented to the Army Colors. These streamers represent the missions soldiers have undertaken on behalf of the American people.
