Former Firemen Arrested in Arson Case

State fire marshals arrest six for arsons in Oakdale. Three served as volunteer firefighters with Oakdale and Allen parish District Six Fire Departments.
They’re 18-year-old Darryl Edward Blount of Oakdale, 18-year-old Thomas Lenox Gilbert of Elizabeth, and 17-year-old Bobby Wayne Murray, 25-year-old Kenneth Jamal Sweet, 20-year-old Jeremy West and 21-year-old Johnny West, all of Oakdale.
Charges range from conspiracy to burglary to arson. Investigators say no clear motive has been found. The ex-firefighters are Gilbert, Murray, Sweet and Johnny West.
