The state’s oldest city is preparing for its 87th Festival of Lights. On Saturday night at 6:30, more than half a million lights will be turned on during a ceremony in the Natchitoches Historic District. Natchitoches was founded in 1714.
Turn on the Lights begins 45 nights of lights for the Christmas holiday, running through January 4th.
There will be entertainment for the entire family on the downtown riverbank this Saturday, including a fireworks display. Saturday is also the kick-off of the Natchitoches tri-centennial celebration. For an entire schedule, visit ChristmasFestival.com.
