Exchange Club Honors Police Chief Lampert

Today a local civic club is honoring a member of the law enforcement community.  The Exchange Club names an outstanding member of the Alexandria Police each year.

This year they went straight to the top with Chief Loren Lampert.  Lampert’s entire life has been devoted to law enforcement on the streets as a policeman, in the courtroom as a prosecutor, and now as chief.

Lampert accepted the award with some good humor.  Responding to rumors about his future, he assured the membership he’s not running for elected office in the coming year, with judgeships and the DA’s races coming in the fall.
