Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee will be hosting Operation Grateful Nation:  Pushups for Charity on May 30, 2015.  This years event will be held at the Leesville High School practice football field located at 502 Berry Avenue, behind the High School.  The event will begin with registration at  8:30 a.m. and end no later than 11:00 a.m.. Civil War Battle Commemoration

On June 6, the Fort Randolph & Buhlow State Historic Site in Pineville will be hosting a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the surrender of the last Confederate held forts to Union troops. The event starts at 10am with the ceremony at 11:30am. There will also be a table with a Union NCO signing authentic parole papers for the Confederate troops. New Llano Fall Festival

New Llano will be hosting a FALL FESTIVAL and parade on Friday October 23rd.   Festival will be 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the New Llano Town Park to include gumbo cook off, hot dogs, games for kids, cake walk, and local businesses with booths.  The parade will be at 6:30 pm.  Entry forms for the parade are available at the New Llano Town Hall; entry fee is $20.
