NSU Concert Choir Fall Concert

November 2, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State University Concert Choir will perform its fall concert Monday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

Associate Professor of Music Michael Rorex will make his debut as Concert Choir conductor. Rorex also directs the NSU Men’s Chorus.

The choir will begin its concert with a contemporary work, “Dies Irae” by composer Karl Jenkins.  The “Dies Irae” is part of an extended work by Jenkins built on the same text of the Dies Irae (day of wrath) of a Requiem Mass.

The choir will also include a beautiful choral standard titled “The Eyes of All” by Jean Berger along the popular “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “When I Have Sung my Songs to You.”  The concert will end with Leonard Bernstein’s “Make our Garden Grow” from his opera “Candide.”
