Continuing Education: ALICE
Children’s Advocacy Network presents…
Continuing Education: ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed
Friday July 7, 2017 11:00 am-1:00 pm
David Britt, President of United Way of Central Louisiana, presents on ALICE.
Who is ALICE?
In Louisiana, 695,719 households – fully 40% – struggled to afford basic household necessities in 2013.
With the cost of living higher than what most wages pages, ALICE families – an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed – work hard and earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford a basic household budget of housing, child care, food, transportation, and health care. ALICE households live in every parish in Louisiana – urban, suburban and rural. They include women and men, young and old, of all races and ethnicities.
Lunch will be provided, please RSVP to the event and send questions to Ckelly@childrensadvocacy.net by July 1, 2017.
We look forward to seeing you there!
