Please join the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce for a Strategic Luncheon featuring a presentation on the future Interstate 14, also known as the Gulf Coast Strategic Highway. Judge John Thompson, Board Chairman for the Gulf Coast Strategic Highway Coalition, will talk about the importance of this multi-state infrastructure project to connect military installations, ports and industrial development corridors. Judge Thompson will discuss the progress made by Texas, what is happening in Louisiana, as well as the projected economic impact of communities along the I-14 route.

John Thompson began his public service career in 1983 as a city councilman in Livingston, Texas. In 1991, John was elected Polk County Judge. He retired from his county judge post in 2015 after 24 years in office.
Thompson began his professional career as a small business owner and pharmacist in the 1970s. He became involved in economic development and transportation issues through what would become a lifetime of public service at the city, county and state levels, including several state board appointments. He was elected President of the National Association of Regional Councils in 2006, and served as chairman of the Alliance of I-69 for Texas, the Gulf Coast Strategic Highway /Strategic I-14 Coalition and The Texas Association of Counties.
