October 3, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Forts Randolph and Buhlow State Historic Site, Pineville – Campfire Cooking, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Learn about camp cuisine common in Federal and Confederate encampments, including seasonal vegetables and fruits that may have been available to foraging soldiers. While the food is cooking it is common to have a little idle time, so visitors will be treated to stories and demonstrations that would have been done around the kitchen campfire during the Civil War.
