Chamber of Commerce
April 10, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Ninth Judicial District Court, Central LA Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Louisiana Supreme Court and the Justice Reinvestment Task Force, invite you to participate in an interactive discussion with members of your community and the Justice Reinvestment Task Force about the policy recommendations to be submitted to the Legislature.
You may have seen the recent reports concerning the movement in Louisiana for a major overhaul of its criminal justice system. The Justice Reinvestment Task Force, a bi-partisan, inter-branch group of stakeholders, was created to analyze the drivers of Louisiana’s prison population and make policy recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature based on that analysis. Some of the recommendations have become a part of the Governor’s Legislative package and are summarized in a news article:
Your interest and involvement in this criminal justice conversation is needed. We hope you can join us for this discussion this evening, April 10, 2017 at the Rapides Foundation Building, 1011 Fourth Street, Alexandria, LA in Classroom C from 5:30-7:00 p.m. On behalf of the Rapides Court system and the Chamber, we thank you for your leadership on these important issues and we look forward to working with you to achieve our common goal—to improve the administration of criminal justice in Louisiana.
