Elementary Students Honor Veterans Today

Children at Acadian Elementary honored veterans today, since they don’t have school tomorrow. They gave their thanks for the men and women who served in the military with presentations.

Many of them are the great-grandchildren of those who served overseas.

Students at Tioga Elementary also staged patriotic programs. They called it “Take a Veteran to School” Day. They presented a color guard drill presentation by the school’s ROTC and Stomp Team and music. The production also included a reading of essays about Veterans Day and even a slide show about patriotism.

Students say they wanted to honor their hometown heroes.
