Dutch Oven Gathering Set For January 4

VILLE PLATTE — Visitors are invited to Chicot State Park in Ville Platte on Saturday, January 4, at 9:00 a.m. to noon, to learn about Dutch oven cooking at Pavilion 1.  We invite you to bring your Dutch oven and cook with our staff.  These gatherings provide a good opportunity to learn how to cook in a camp style black pot, so bring your fixings and enjoy the beautiful out of doors while cooking, eating, and visiting with others in our new group.

Participants will be able to sample the food and learn first hand how to use these outdoor black pots. Everyone is welcome to attend whether they cook or not.
