The LA DOTD Engineer, David Pugh, advises the public that, weather permitting, work will begin the week of July the 22nd, 2013 on LA Highway 1 to remove the existing concrete pavement and to lay a new asphalt pavement. This project starts at the north side of the Sibley Lake Bridge and ends at the intersection of LA 1 and LA 3191 in the City of Natchitoches.
The scope of work includes cold planning asphaltic concrete, removal of concrete pavement, lime treatment, in-place stabilized base course, Superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, guard rail replacement, concrete patching, and pavement marking and signage items. It is anticipated that it will take approximately (3) three months to complete the work associated with this project.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC (Alexandria, LA) in the amount of $1,330,794.70.
Permit/Detour section: Local traffic will be maintained at all times but there will be periodic lane closures and minor delays associated with this work.
