Documentary Features Louisiana Woodstock

Did you know Louisiana had its own Woodstock? It’s the subject of a one-time screening of a documentary, McCrea 1971: Louisiana’s Forgotten Rock Festival.

It will be shown September 4th here at the Fox Theatre in Marksville. The festival was named for McCrea, a small community south of Avoyelles Parish.

We talked to some of those who remember the event.

The film was produced by two Southeastern Louisiana University students.

A limited number of tickets are for sale at $5 per person. This is part of the first Thursday on the Square event in Marksville.
