Dardenne Comments on Gov. Race, State Budget

dardennegoodfoodLieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne spent most of the day in Alexandria.

He visited the Good Food Project in Alexandria.  Organizers say that’s a program for the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. This is a community garden at Ashley and 15th streets, which provides fresh produce to those who tend the rows.

But Dardenne is tending to his campaign, which is well underway before the October primary. We asked him about Senator David Vitter who appears to be the front-runner and about that controversial budget adopted by the legislature.

Also in the race are Scott Angelle, John Bel Edwards and maybe Retired General Russell Honore who now says he’ll decide by July first if he’s a candidate. Edwards is the lone democrat so far and General Honore doesn’t claim a party affiliation.

Meanwhile, expect to see a lot of these men in Central Louisiana as they meet and greet the voters.
