Judges Donald Johnson and Harry Randow both have served as chief judges, a post now held by Randow. Judge Johnson was on the bench from 1993 and Judge Randow dating back to 1998.

Judge Johnson becomes the first African-American judge on the bench to take retirement. Judge Randow was in private practice before his election.
