Convicted Felon Booked for Firearm Possession

Deputies drove through the area and located a subject identified as 19 year-old Kaleb Malone of Pineville, who matched the description given.  Deputies explained the complaint and while talking to Malone, noticed what appeared to be the butt of a pistol protruding from his rear pants pocket.

Malone was detained without incident and the .380 caliber loaded handgun was secured.  Deputies learned that Malone was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.

Malone was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for Illegal Carry of Firearms for the concealed weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Malone is currently being held without bond.
