Committee Approves State Budget Cut Bill
The powerful House Appropriations Committee approves by a vote of 14 to 9 a spending bill that cuts millions from the state budget.
The vote was along party lines. However, the cuts represent more money than the governor slashed, and some angry department heads said the time has come to stop micro-managing state government.
The bill now goes to the house floor where most predict it will be changed around.
