Shawn and Marlon Wayans to Perform Stand-up Show

MARKSVILLE, La. – Paragon Casino Resort is excited to announce that comedic duo, Shawn and Marlon Wayans, will perform live in the Mari Showroom on Saturday, June 8. Tickets are $30 and are on sale now.

The Wayans’ family is a household name in popular movies and TV sitcoms. Shawn and Marlon are the youngest of ten siblings and are considered a triple threat due to their acting, directing and writing credits. In 1990 and 1992, big brothers and elders of the family, Keenan Ivory Wayans and Damon Wayans, introduced Shawn and Marlon to mainstream audiences in their famed TV show, In Living Color. In Living Color gave the siblings a jump start into their now successful careers. The show also ignited careers of other famous comedians/actors such as Jim Carey and Jamie Foxx.

After a successful run on In Living Color, Shawn and Marlon branched out and launched their own TV sitcom, The Wayans Brothers debuting in 1995. The comedy sitcom told the story of two brothers who owned a newsstand in Harlem. Airing on The WB (Warner’s Brothers) Network for five seasons, The Wayans Brothers was later picked up in syndication by BET, ION Television, UPN, Fox and MTV2.

The duo later went on to create several blockbuster films depicting a unique brand of humor. Such films included Scary Movie which debut in 2000. It was a comedic parody of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Scary Movie was so successful that it spawned three box office hit sequels, including Little Man, White Chicks, Dance Flick and Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
