Coliseum Board Aims to Purchase Parking Lot from City

Members of the Rapides Parish Police Jury are meeting to push along renovations for the Rapides Coliseum. The city and parish were at odds over how to proceed, because they co-own a parking lot needed for the Coliseum.

But, the Police Jury is going forward with a plan to buy and trade for total ownership of the property.

You may also recall a couple of years ago the voters approved a tax to renovate and update the aging Coliseum.

Architect Bill Tudor says his group is ready to go forward as soon as the legal red tape is cut into pieces.
