CMN Telethon Surpasses Fundraising Goal

telethon2.The Annual Children’s Miracle Network Telecast is, once again, a resounding success.

For a night and a day, volunteers and residents lined up to pledge money for the CMN at Cabrini Women’s and Children’s Hospital. They met miracle families and their children and celebrated the willingness of area residents to get involved.

telethon1The final total was more than 424 thousand dollars. That’s above the CMN goal for this year.

In months to come, you’ll hear about plans for the 2015 telethon and for ways the money is used right here in Central Louisiana.

CMN officials say it’s often the little donations that make a difference. That’s what happened yesterday morning when hundreds of people drove down Texas Avenue by the hospital to plunk down five dollars for a bar-b-que chicken plate.

chickendinnersVolunteers actually started preparations late Saturday and worked all morning to stack those plates.

This is a tradition with the Children’s Miracle Network, and it provides a hefty sum to the entire collection for the weekend.
