Civil War Round Table Meeting
The next meeting of the Civil War Round Table of Central Louisiana is on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 6 PM. It will be held at the First United Methodist Church (2727 Jackson Street, Alexandria). Simply enter the first doorway on the right side of the building and continue to the end of the hallway for our meeting place.
Our featured speaker this month will be Gregg Philipson, Commissioner of The Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission in Austin, Texas. His subject will be “Jews in the Confederacy”. In addition to his talk, Philipson will be bringing items for display including lots of ephemera type materials such as rare books, military orders, speeches, newspaper material, stamp related items, currency, bonds, etc.
A meal is available to all members and guests at $10.00 per person. Thursday night’s meal will be:
Roast Beef, Rice and Gravy, Corn, Salad, Rolls, Lemon Cake, Tea or Water

As always, we will be having a book raffle and we would appreciate any donations that you would like to pass on to someone else. If you have not already paid your dues, please do so at this meeting. Dues are prorated as the campaign season continues. First time visitors are welcome at no charge. The money goes toward paying for our speaker’s travel and lodging.
