The Pineville Police Department would like to invite anyone 16 years or older to participate in the Citizens Academy. The mission of the Citizens Academy is to provide citizens with knowledge of the workings of the Police Department. Classes will be held for five weeks on, help Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM to 8PM, with one Saturday class at a local shooting range. Some topics that will be covered during the course of the Academy will be Police Use of Force and its Dynamics, proper firearm safety, Internet predators, elderly abuse and traffic investigation.
