Deputies say John Cole of Deville and Justin Kerry of Dry Prong stole tractor parts and other heavy metal items yesterday on Fred Redwine Road.
Deputies say they found the suspects after the victim saw them riding down the road with one of them riding on the hood of the car, holding a tractor wheel.
Cole was later released on a $5,250.00 bond while Kerry remains in jail on a $5,250.00 at the time of this release.
“These types of metal thefts are still prevalent in our parish and all over the state. While we do not recommend confronting a suspect in a crime, we do want to commend the citizen for being observant and reporting something that was definitely out of the ordinary” said Sheriff Hilton. “If you see something, say something. You never know what it may lead to.”
Detectives say the investigation is ongoing.
