Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Call for Entries Kicks Off Today

ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA – The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce celebrates the hard work of local businesses every day of the year. Yet on one particular night, it takes the festivities to the next level. The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Business Awards provide local businesses the opportunity to celebrate and be recognized for their achievements.

Organized by the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, the awards, also known as the “Bizzy Awards” shine a spotlight on businesses in Central Louisiana. The gala honors those Central Louisiana companies that have excelled and become pillars of the community. Around 350 people typically attend this annual event which includes a red carpet, a sit-down dinner, an award ceremony and a champagne winner’s circle.

Starting on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 members of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce can nominate themselves or other members for each of the 12 awards categories. This year all award entries will be collected online on the Chamber’s website, www.cenlachamber.org. Businesses may enter or be nominated in more than one category; however there is an entry fee for each category nomination. Nominations will be accepted online until Friday, May 1 at 4:00PM. Ballots will be sent out to all Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce representatives for voting. Votes are then tallied and the winners announced at the awards dinner Friday, June 12, 2015 and the Sai Convention Center in Alexandria.

Award categories include: Best New Business, Best Large Business, Best Medium Business, Best Small Business, Best Non-Profit, Best Curb Appeal, Best Interior Design,Best Website,  Best Business Logo, Best Marketing Campaign, Best Green Business, and The RoyOMartin Best Overall Business Award. The latter award is the Bizzy’s top honor and is named after Roy O. Martin Sr., who founded the RoyOMartin Company, one of the largest independently owned lumber companies in the South.
