Arrest Made in Criminal Sexual Conduct Case


Rapides deputies make an arrest in a criminal sexual conduct case.
This is 44-year-old Tully Timothy Guidry of Lake Arthur in Jeff Davis Parish. The complaint was filed on September 29th and deputies say Guidry was located in a neighboring parish’s jail under arrest for a similar crime.

Alexandria Man Arrested for Armed Robbery


A 28-year-old Alexandria man is arrested for armed robbery. Raynell Hicks is accused of holding up a man yesterday near Wilmore’s Food Mart on MacArthur Drive.
The victim told police he was robbed at gunpoint by two men. Hicks was later found on Virginia Street.

Hundreds Attend Race for the Cure


Hundreds of people attended the annual Race for the Cure in Downtown Alexandria.
Some walked or ran while others cheered them on. They raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the fight against breast cancer.

Fifth Graders Participate in Forest Awareness Week


Some 700 fifth graders from Rapides Parish have been spending all week in the woods. It’s Forest Awareness Week, sponsored by the Louisiana Forestry Association and others.
