Electricians Still Working to Repair Courthouse Electricity

Electricians are working through the weekend to repair a malfunction that darkened the Federal Courthouse in Alexandria and interrupted the penalty phase for Thomas Steven Sanders.
Sanders has been convicted of slaying a 12-year-old girl, and the jury must now determine if he lives or dies.
Officials hope to resume the testimony on Monday.

UPDATE 4:08PM: The inmate that escaped and stole a vehicle earlier today at his job site has been apprehended by the Natchitoches Police Department.
Michael Thomas Smith was located after Natchitoches PD received information the escapee was at a local gas station in the stolen vehicle.  Patrol Officers responded and took Smith into custody without incident.  [...]

The former head of metro narcotics in Rapides Parish has been placed on probation after admitting to malfeasance and abuse of office.
Michael Lacour entered a plea agreement with the DA’s office yesterday.  He had been charged with having sex with a woman on probation, helping her get money from Crime Stoppers and mishandling illegal drugs.
