As students start school, faculty and parents are still unsure about a major issue in Louisiana: common core. That determines how students will be tested in the spring.
Both sides of the issue are in court today, and the judge has taken the matter under advisement to rule at another time.

Alexandria police arrest 3 people for a vehicle burglary on Avenue C very early Saturday. Police say they’ve arrested 31-year-old Earline Saunders of Lecompte and 17-year-old Michael Carr of Alexandria.
