Alexandria police say a man is expected to recover from a shooting that happened Thursday night.
No names or address is provided, but police say they were notified the victim was taken to a hospital.
They say he’s a 24-year-old man. The investigation continues.

Attorneys for the City of Leesville are asking an appeals court how they can re-instate their former police chief.

Manuel Rivas
An El Salvadoran citizen is convicted in Alexandria of an immigration violation.
45-year-old Manuel Rivas will be sentenced in July for refusing to fill out proper papers for travel from El Salvador next year.
Rivas faces a fine plus a four-year prison sentence.
