A Fort Polk soldier is arrested for inappropriate behavior with a youngster.
23-year-old Casey Dustin Young was arrested last week by Leesville police for aggravated rape and another sex charge.

State Treasurer John Kennedy has harsh words about efforts to change group health insurance for state workers and teachers. John Kennedy made these remarks before a speech to the Lafayette Rotary Club.

Lafayette Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A Lafayette man dies in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 49 in Saint Landry Parish. He’s 67-year-old Donald Royer.
State police say another driver pulled into the road from the side, ahead of Royer, and when he tried to avoid the car, he lost control and was thrown.
