Miss LA Lauren Vizza Visits Central LA


Miss Louisiana is on her farewell tour around the state.
Lauren Vizza visited the Alexandria Zoo today. She’s making stops like this throughout her reign.

Judge Randow to be Inducted in LA Justice Hall of Fame


State District Judge Harry Randow is a 2013 honoree for the Louisiana Justice Hall of Fame.
Randow is one of seven to be inducted in a ceremony next month. The museum is located in the State Penitentiary Museum in Angola.

MLK Library Closes June 21


Patrons of the MLK Library on Lower Third should note that this branch will close Friday, June 21st.
Construction will soon begin on a new building near Peabody Magnet. It’s expected to open a year from now.

Soldier Pleads Guilty to Murder


A former Fort Polk soldier will be sentenced in September for murder and attempted murder.
Marcus Patterson Carey entered a guilty plea in the death of one soldier and attempting to kill another by using a hammer and stabbing the victims.
He’ll be sentenced September 19th in Federal Court in Lake Charles.
