Missing Alexandria Woman Found Unharmed

Alexandria police say a missing local woman, Deesha Austin, has been found unharmed.
She was reported missing on June 9th after she went to the store and didn’t return.
Police say there was nothing suspicious connected to the incident.

13-year-old Boy Charged with Second-Degree Murder

Authorities in Jefferson Parish say a five-year-old girl died after her half-brother performed wrestling moves on her.
An ambulance was called to their apartment Sunday afternoon.  That’s where officials say they found the girl lying unresponsive on a bathroom floor.  She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft says a zero was left off a first-report on a marijuana caper.  As reported yesterday, Vernon Deputies say they’ve found a large field of marijuana on the west side of the parish.  Agents say they destroyed more than 6 thousand plants cultivated in a plot of almost 3 acres.

State troopers say they’ve nabbed a copper thief.  State Police investigators say 61-year-old Jim Jones of Campti took copper from Lowes Home In Alexandria and Stine’s Lumber Company in Natchitoches.
But, investigators want your help.  They say they’re looking for other incidents like these and possible accomplices.  Anyone with information should call state police.

A natural gas line explodes early today near Enon, Louisiana.  That’s about an hour and a half north of New Orleans.
