A 33-year-old woman from Otis is arrested for battery of a child.  Rebecca Marie Carlock was arrested April 13th for a March incident involving a dispute over a cell phone between her and the child.

Deadly Crash in Allen Parish

State police say excessive speed, alcohol and no restraints are all causes of a deadly accident in Allen Parish.
The victim is 48 year-old Bryan Manuel of Longville.
Troopers say he was going more than 100 miles an hour just west of Kinder.  He failed to take the curve and flipped over multiple times.

Natchitoches police are investigating their first homicide of 2014.  They’ve arrested the victim’s son, Lawrence Monette of Natchitoches.  The victim is 63 year-old Colton Pete Monette of Cloutierville, who was stabbed on Lake Street Friday afternoon.
