Preliminary Winners Selected in Miss LA Pageant

4 Arrested in Natchitoches for Drugs & Cruelty to a Juvenile

Natchitoches Deputies arrest four people for drugs and cruelty to juvenile.  Deputies say 25-year-old Leah Admire, 31-year-old Nicholas Skinner, 28-year-old Brandon Skinner and 32-year-old Randall Obannon Junior, all of Natchitoches, are charged.

Alexandria Police arrest four people for attempted murder last night near Huffman and Harvard streets.  Shots were fired — but nobody was hurt.
Police arrested Jerome Dorsey, Zachary Bonier, Jamarius Jones and Marcus Gaines – all of Alexandria.

Grant Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing Social Security Payments

A 57-year-old Grant Parish woman will be sentenced in September for spending her mother’s social security payments.
Mary Elizabeth Kilpatrick of Montgomery now owes the government almost 200 thousand dollars.  She pleaded guilty in federal court and faces up to 10 years in prison.

Two-Headed Turtle Hatches at San Antonio Zoo

The San Antonio Zoo is welcoming a rare arrival to its aquarium.  A two-headed turtle named “Thelma and Louise.”
The animal is one of four turtles that hatched at the zoo last week.  The two-headed turtle will be on exhibit in the Friedrich Aquarium located inside the zoo.

Rapides deputies arrest three in Pineville for drug and illegal firearm charges.  They’re 32-year-old Marshal Frantom and 21-year-old Shelby Stephens – both of Pineville and 35-year-old Michael Metesh of Pollock.
Deputies say they were tipped Frantom was distributing drugs and conducted a six-month probe that ended June 13th when his home on Denny Road was searched.  [...]
