When you visit the Rapides Parish Fair, you might want to engage in a simple safety lesson, courtesy of the Louisiana State Police.
Their rollover simulator will be there to show you what happens when you neglect simple rules, like wearing your seat belt.

The simulator is especially recommended for teen drivers.

Autopsy Does Not Reveal Cause of Death of Inmate

Rapides deputies say an autopsy performed on an inmate who died in custody is indeterminate. Sean Smith died Saturday in the detention center.
Deputies say toxicology results are now pending and should take 30 to 45 days.

Chrysler Issues Recall on Some Commercial Vans

Chrysler is recalling some of its commercial vans to fix a problem with headrests. More than 21 thousand full size commercial vans are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada.

Reward Offered for Leads in Black Bear Killing

A seven thousand dollar reward is being offered for leads in the killing of a black bear in Concordia Parish.
Game wardens say a fisherman found the badly decomposed body of the bear on September 1st in the Atchafalaya River.
The animal was radio collared and was part of the state’s black bear restoration program.
