Rapides Deputies Searching for Escaped Inmate

Rapides deputies are searching for an inmate assigned to the city of Alexandria, who reportedly walked off a job site and stole a city vehicle.
37-year-old McKennedy Armstead is serving time for a drug conviction. He’s not considered dangerous, and authorities recovered the city truck he’s accused of stealing.

Anacoco Man Arrested In Connection with Shooting

Vernon deputies arrest an Anacoco man in connection with a shooting early this morning at Methodist Landing Park in the Leesville area.
34-year-old Rodney McGlothlin is accused of using a shotgun to injure Ernest Phaneuf III, who’s now listed in stable condition.

Here’s an update now on a crash that killed a Pineville man.
State police have arrested Daniel Verzwyvelt, II of Boyce on vehicular homicide charges. Troopers say he was driving a truck on April 20th when he collided with another truck on Highway 496 in Rapides Parish.

5th Person Dies From Crash in Acadia Parish

State police report a fifth person has died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash last week in Acadia parish.
He’s 24-year-old Joshua LeJeune of port Barre.
Meanwhile, an Opelousas mother and son have been identified as those killed instantly in the crash as 23-year-old Justin Bartram and 44-year-old Laura Bartram.
