Area farmers spent this morning learning the latest on the crops they planted in the spring and hope to harvest come fall. It’s the 13th Annual Field Day sponsored by the Dean Lee Research and Extension Center and LSU. They talked corn, sorghum, soybeans and pests.

Another arrest is made by Rapides deputies in connection with a late June break-in while a family was on vacation. Jessica Galloway of Alexandria is accused of theft and a firearm offense.
The burglary happened on June 29th in Boyce, and one other arrest has been made. Deputies say more arrests are expected.

A former Oakdale police officer is arrested for accusations of sexual relations with a child. State police say 25-year-old Skylar Frank was fired after the investigation.
