Local Prostitution Sting Results in 13 Arrests

Rapides deputies conduct a prostitution sting in the Alexandria area, focusing on internet solicitation at local hotels, and arrest 13 people. The only woman arrested, 29-year-old Katie Woods of Bossier City, faces prostitution charges.

Pineville Working On Nighttime Mardi Gras Parade

Discussions are underway for a new Mardi Gras parade in our twin cities this one in Pineville. Tourism officials are working with the City of Pineville to support the idea.
Bennett Roland junior says the city has experience with a night-time parade, and they’re talking about this idea.

State duck hunters can purchase a new federal stamp online starting August 1st.

Over $157 Million in Projects to Be Spent in CenLA

More than 157 million dollars in projects are now headed to Central Louisiana.
The biggest portion will be spent in Rapides and Natchitoches Parishes. These range from roads to colleges and universities to privatizing Huey Long Hospital. Some represent new buildings though most will go for operation and maintenance of existing facilities.

2 Juveniles Arrested for Break-In

Alexandria police arrest two juveniles for burglary in the Garden District. The two were taken into custody yesterday afternoon after a reported break-in in the 2 thousand block of Marye Street.
Nobody was hurt. Police say a neighbor spotted the suspects.
