City Judge Candidate Promises to Post 10 Commandments in Courtroom

One of the candidates for Pineville City Judge hosts a news conference today about the 10 Commandments.
Lauren Saucier invited area ministers to her announcement. She says if elected she will post the 10 Commandments in her courtroom. Her supporters say this is important to the ministers.

Police ID Officer Involved in Fort Polk Soldier Shooting

Alexandria police release more information about the officer-involved shooting that happened August 16th. Fork Polk soldier, 22-year-old Mitchel Ryan Bethin, is charged with aggravated assault with a gun and simple battery.
APD identified the officer as Corporal Clifton Fairbanks, a 14-year veteran. State investigators say the preliminary investigation revealed Fairbanks likely saved the life of another [...]

Police arrested Jennifer Chapman and Joseph Chapman of Alexandria over the weekend. Seven children in all were removed from their home on Park Avenue.

Mike Small to Defend Fort Polk Soldier in Assault Case

Prominent criminal lawyer Mike Small of Alexandria is defending a Fort Polk soldier shot last weekend by an Alexandria policeman.
State police arrested Mitchel Ryan Bethin today after he was discharged from the hospital. Bethin is accused of aggravated assault with a firearm and simple battery.

Local Woman Shoots Man in Apparent Domestic Dispute

An Alexandria woman is arrested for shooting a man this afternoon at the Cabana Mobile Home Estates on North Bolton. She’s 73-year-old Judy Hernandez.
Police say it appears to have been a domestic dispute. The man was treated on the scene and taken to a local hospital.
She’s charged with attempted murder.

18-Year-Old Arrested for Inappropriate Behavior with Forest Hill Girl

A Glenmora teen is arrested for inappropriate behavior with a Forest Hill girl. 18-year-old Jesus Romero Rubio is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and oral sexual battery.
Rapides deputies say the complaint came in a couple weeks ago, and that started the investigation.
