Penalty Phase in Sanders Case Begins Tomorrow

The penalty phase of the Thomas Sanders case in Alexandria Federal Court begins tomorrow.
He has been convicted of kidnapping and slaying a 12-year-old girl. The prosecution is asking for the death penalty.
The jurors who decided his guilt last week will not decide if he lives or dies.

54-year-old Ronald Wayne Hayes was reported missing by his wife. Shawn Hayes says she dropped her husband off at work on Northern Street Friday morning and has not heard from him since. He’s 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds.

Alexandria police arrest two men for drug distribution. Central Louisiana Safe Streets Task Force agents say Tavis Jenkins and Eric Parker Junior were taken into custody at the Riverwynd Apartments.

5 area airports will be receiving almost 10 million dollars in federal funds.
The biggest share goes to Alexandria International, some 7 million dollars. The rest is allotted among Allen Parish, Leesville and Marksville’s airports.
