ALEXANDRIA, La., Jan. 28 – Due to today’s wintry weather, several Rapides Regional Medical Center departments are closed or are closing early today.
Those that are closed:
Rapides Cancer Center
Rapides Wound Healing Center, which is also closed Wednesday
Rapides Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, which is also closed Wednesday
Rapides Regional Physician Group primary care offices in Pineville and Lecompte
The long-time president and CEO of Rapides Regional Medical Center, Julius McLaurin, has died at the age of 90.
He ran the hospital from 19-70 to 1988 and steered the hospital from its ownership by the Louisiana Baptist Convention into what became Rapides Regional.

Cabrini hosted a walk-through of the facility today to show off what the Incarnate Word Community Clinic will offer.

Rapides Regional Medical Center joins with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency as it recognizes donors and their families during the holiday season.
