A child safety-seat check will be held tomorrow at Rapides Regional Medical Center. State Troopers say the understanding when dealing with safety seats and children is a lifesaver.

The child safety seat check is from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

A young girl in Baton Rouge gets a very special visitor this week.
This is five-year-old “Lilie” and she is celebrating a big milestone in her battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Lilie just finished up her chemotherapy so she was surprised with a unicorn ride.

Hundreds of people attended the annual Race for the Cure in Downtown Alexandria.
Some walked or ran while others cheered them on. They raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the fight against breast cancer.
Volunteers say they’re motivated by friends and family, some of who are survivors for many who lost their battles.

Kennedy Calls for Legislative Oversight of Office of Group Benefits

The most vocal critics of the handling of the health benefits for state workers, including teachers, is State Treasurer John Kennedy. He’s now calling for legislative oversight of the Office of Group Benefits.

Kennedy has said the trust fund for the group benefits was raided by the governor to balance the budget.

Balloon Launch Honors Breast Cancer Victims, Survivors
