Local Companies Band Together to Form Clinic

A few local companies have their own clinic, and a spokesman today describes how this came about. It’s the Legacy Health and Wellness Clinic for the Roy O. Martin Companies, Afco Industries and Gilchrist Construction Company.

University Academy Plans Auction to Raise Money

Jewish Temple Celebrates 155 Years

The Jewish Temple of Alexandria celebrates over the weekend. The historic congregation is now 155 years old. A plaque was placed near the building and the facility is now on the historic registry list.

Friends of the Alexandria Zoo are getting ready for Les Fest Weekend. It features a Thursday night party for adults and a Saturday, all-day event for all ages.

The party is Thursday night, September 25th, and the all-day event is Saturday, the 27th.

POW, MIA Ceremony Held Today at VA

Those who never returned are remembered today at a VA hospital service. The guest speaker for this POW-MIA ceremony is Colonel Glenn Moore, Garrison Commander at Fort Polk.

The annual ceremony is designed to thank and remember those who were prisoners and the ones who for whom there are still question marks.

Bunkie Elementary School students today are involved in an awareness program for sickle cell anemia and volunteers from the Pineville Beauty College are joining in the effort.
