Job Fair Underway for New Food Businesses


A job fair is underway through Friday in downtown Alexandria for three new food businesses that are to open this fall. They are opening up inside the old Weiss and Goldring’s building at the corner of Third and Desoto Streets.

Northwestern Theatre to present Broadway hits, classics and more in 2014-15

NATCHITOCHES – Broadway hits, classic plays, topical shows and original productions will be part of Northwestern Theatre and Dance’s 2014-15 season, according to Artistic Director Scott Burrell.

Balloon Launch Honors Breast Cancer Victims, Survivors

One area town’s police chief is mourning the loss of his parents after a fire.

Rapides Regional Medical Center’s annual book sale started today. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Central Louisiana.

Scammers are targeting people in our area over the phone.
The Rapides Sheriff’s Office says crooks are calling and claiming to be from the department. They claim you owe money over outstanding warrants.
They office says it never collects such money over the phone, so please do not give such callers any money.
