Rapides Parish Fair Begins Today Next to LSUA

It’s the first day for the Rapides Parish Fair in a new location. It’s sprawling across the Dewitt and Evacuation Centers right next door to LSU of Alexandria. Bennett Roland Junior says the 2014 fair will be one to remember.

The Central Louisiana Business League invites candidates to a forum, especially those in the predominantly African American communities. Candidates for Alexandria Mayor, the judgeship vacancy for Division A, District Attorney and Congress were invited to the forum at Convention Hall.

Chrysler Issues Recall on Some Commercial Vans

Chrysler is recalling some of its commercial vans to fix a problem with headrests. More than 21 thousand full size commercial vans are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada.

Reward Offered for Leads in Black Bear Killing

A seven thousand dollar reward is being offered for leads in the killing of a black bear in Concordia Parish.
Game wardens say a fisherman found the badly decomposed body of the bear on September 1st in the Atchafalaya River.
The animal was radio collared and was part of the state’s black bear restoration program.
