LSUA Generals Raise Money with Skeet-Shooting

A skeet-shooting tournament is slated for next month and sponsored by the Generals Athletic Association. It will raise money for the LSUA program.

The EMC Water System has issued a boil advisory for customers in the Calcasieu community. The water system is headquartered in Elmer.

Buckeye Graduate Receives Leadership Award

The State Youth Leadership Award was presented to a Buckeye High Graduate at the Police Jury meeting today. Logan James received the award.
The council is a group of 21 high-school students who represent youngsters from across the state.

Genealogy Museum Hosts Day Camp

A day camp is underway at the local genealogy museum. These day campers are learning about the past, specifically their own ancestors.
The group that runs the museum sponsors this event each summer. Members teach students how to trace their histories as far back as records will take them.

Pineville Marshal Dies from Crash Injuries

Pineville City and Ward Marshal Larry Jeane has died. He was 68 years old.
He died from injuries sustained in a crash Friday afternoon. Witnesses say he was slumped over the wheel when he crossed the centerline and hit another car.
