Menard Students Turn Mall into Art Museum


Menard High students are transforming the Alexandria Mall into an art museum.  This is a part of Youth Art Month celebrations that started last month.
The students in the art department are displaying about 600 pieces, including digital photography.  The show was held yesterday afternoon and into the night.

Phoenix Magnet Students Tour the World


Students from Phoenix Magnet traveled around the world yesterday, without actually leaving central Louisiana.  It’s the annual Geo Awareness Program on the quad at LSU of Alexandria.

LC Holds Press Conference to Discuss Athletics

Louisiana College officials held a news conference today to talk about the school’s athletic program.
LC is now under the leadership of Doctor Argile Smith.  He will be resident pro-tem while a search committee finds a successor to Joe Aguillard.

The school has a variety of athletic programs, including football.

Rotary Honors KLAX-TV Sales Director


KLAX TV Sales Director, John LeBoeuf, was among those honored by the Alexandria Rotary Club today.
The guest speaker was Noel Bajat, who spoke to the club about their contribution of more than 600 thousand dollars to the Rotary International Foundation.

Remembrance Ceremony is Held at Holocaust Memorial in Alexandria


A special remembrance ceremony is held at the Holocaust Memorial in Alexandria.
A plaque in honor of Anne Frank was also added during the ceremony.  Anne’s diary lives on, giving young people the chance to see the history of the holocaust.
