Summer Day Camp Underway in Alexandria

A summer day camp is now underway for City of Alexandria children through August 8th. It’s for children ages 4 to 12, and it runs all day, ending at 6 each night, Monday through Friday.

Humane Society Forming Shelter Oversight Committee

The Humane Society of Louisiana is forming a shelter oversight committee. The council will inspect shelters around the state, and work with local shelters to improve them and increase public support.
The Humane Society says recent arrests at the Saint Landry Parish Animal Shelter prompted the formation of this inspection council.

Chopstick Restaurant Now Open

The restaurant on North MacArthur Drive formerly known as Anchors is now Chopstick. Chamber of Commerce Red Coats did the honors for the grand opening today.
Chopstick offers a wide variety of Japanese and Chinese dishes, including sushi and hibachi entrees. They’re open for lunch and dinner.

LSUA SGA President Elected to LSU Board of Supervisors

The SGA President at LSU of Alexandria is the new student member of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Brandon Crain was selected by other student body presidents to represent them on the board of supervisors.
