Bunkie Corn Fest Held Over the Weekend

Sweet corn from Bunkie is for sale all over Central Louisiana.
The annual Louisiana Corn Festival ended Saturday. This festival represented everything corn, including art, cooking contests, and even recipes for you to tryout at home.
The event co-chairman says the festival started small, but has grown into a large event for the City of Bunkie.

LDWF Accepting Applications for Aug. 2 Mini BOW Workshop at Woodworth

Road Warrior Ride Comes to Alexandria

A group of visitors stopped in Alexandria on their way from Seattle to Tampa. The organization is dedicated to providing veterans who have been wounded, ill and injured with memorable adventures as part of their rehabilitation. The Road Warrior Ride is a cross -country bonding experience for these vets.

A Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony is held this morning at the Paradise Children’s Clinic on the Monroe Highway. The clinic has been open for about six months.
It serves children age newborns through 21 and provides a variety of services. These range from routine wellness exams to assistance with problems including ADHD.
