Chopstick Restaurant Now Open

The restaurant on North MacArthur Drive formerly known as Anchors is now Chopstick. Chamber of Commerce Red Coats did the honors for the grand opening today.
Chopstick offers a wide variety of Japanese and Chinese dishes, including sushi and hibachi entrees. They’re open for lunch and dinner.

LSUA SGA President Elected to LSU Board of Supervisors

The SGA President at LSU of Alexandria is the new student member of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Brandon Crain was selected by other student body presidents to represent them on the board of supervisors.
He’s the 3rd LSUA student ever elected to this board.

State Highways & Bridges Director in Town Today

The woman in charge of state highways and bridges is in Central Louisiana today. She’s the guest of the North Rapides Business and Industry Alliance, meeting today at Guinn Auditorium in Pineville at Louisiana College.

She is the first woman to serve in this capacity in state government.

City of Alexandria to Host Summer Day Camp

[ June 25, 2014 to August 8, 2014. ] The City of Alexandria, Division of Community Services, will provide a summer camp from June 25 through August 8 for children ages 4-12. The camp will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the former Boys and Girls Club building at 1801 Sylvester Street across from Bringhurst Park.
