Carnival Coming to Rapides Library

Alexandria, Louisiana—Rapides Library Carnival, hosted by the Tween Advisory Group and Teen Advisory Board will be held Saturday, July 26th, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  There will be games, food, prizes, animal balloons, cartoon characters, Curly the Clown, and much more.  All games and activities require tickets.  Tickets may be purchased for .50 each, 3/.00, or 15/.00.  Most games will require 1-2 tickets, each.  All proceeds will be given to the Rapides Parish Homeless Education Program to assist in buying uniforms and school supplies for homeless children.

There were over 458 homeless children registered in Rapides Parish Schools during the 2013-2014 school year.  These children have no permanent residence and live in shelters, or spend an occasional night with family or friends.
